Electricity actually changes our modern life, bringing us great convenience and efficiency, however, ensuring its safety emerges as a paramount concern. This is especially important when numerous equipment operate together, as the simultaneous functioning of them often leads to overheating issues, posing significant risks to both equipment longevity and user safety. To effectively address the challenges associated with temperature management in electrical setups, we have implemented an advanced IoT electrical cabinet temperature monitoring system.
At an amusement park located in Singapore, the electrical equipment room usually faces the situation of excessively high temperatures. This issue primarily arises because of the simultaneous operation of multiple devices, all of them are connected through a network of relays. If the temperatures rise to critical levels under an unnoticed situation, the consequences could be alarming. The absence of the stable functioning of these relays will make amusement equipment malfunction or even out of control.
Without a real-time temperature monitoring system, employees are left unaware of the exact temperature levels of these relays. The lack of awareness prevents them to proactively take timely intervention measures before escalating into more serious problems. By the time they realize the problem, tourists may have already been trapped on the roller coaster. Such potential issue would leave the amusement park vulnerable to operational disruptions and safety hazards. There is an urgent need to get a temperature monitoring system to protect the electricity safety.
To ensure potential overheating issues are detected promptly, we have introduced an IoT temperature monitoring hardware system. This solution equips each device’s wiring with a highly precise H4 Pro temperature sensor. Designed to detect the specific temperature of every individual wire, these sensors contribute to a comprehensive overall temperature monitoring across the entire electrical network. Once the temperature data is captured by the sensors, it will be seamlessly transmitted through our MKGW4 gateway. Acting as a crucial intermediary, MKGW4 could collect the temperature data from all these sensors and forwards it to customer’s software application via cellular at setting interval.
This electrical cabinet temperature monitoring setup not only enables real-time monitoring of temperature metrics, but also provides park manager with high flexibility and convenience to access the data remotely. This solution turns passive into active monitoring, ensuring the timely insights of potential overheating issues, further enhancing the safety and reliability of overall electrical system in the amusement park.
