A LoRaWAN gateway is a wireless module that communicates between a terminal device and the LNS on a LoRa network.
It is primarily used to transfer sensor data from electronic devices to the cloud. LoRa gateways can be used to establish network implementations of related electrical equipment especially in environments where other types of networks are not available because of technical limitations.
The gateway itself connects to the LoRaWAN network server over a high-bandwidth network such as WiFi, Ethernet, or cellular network to provide end-to-end connection between LoRa nodes and application servers. Because of the relatively low data rates between end nodes (nodes or terminal devices) and LoRaWAN gateways, the data transmission range is very high and the energy consumption is very low.
